PURPOSE: The purpose of our Wellness Recovery Group (WRG) is to restore ourselves to our original condition of peace, joy, and happiness. Many people, for many different reasons, lost their original state of wellness as early as 5 years of age. These individuals have searched for restoration in vain for many years only to find that food, gambling, drugs/alcohol, work-a-holism, and unrewarding relationships are not the answer. Some have sought help from various sources and their situation has gotten better than it used to be. However, many people continue to suffer in silence and continue to live beneath their privilege. Some have accepted their present lot as their fate in life and have simply given up hope. The Wellness Recovery Group offers real Hope for restoration of our original joy and sense of well-being. Recovering our wellness is a process, not an event. It is a process that builds upon prior life experiences, both good and bad, and helps us recover our healthy mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: WRG is for individuals who have completed NDR group sessions and who are willing to dedicate themselves to completion of their change process. Much effort has gone into the process of losing our birthright of peace and happiness. Therefore, effort will be required to restore this God-given right. WRG is for those who are now willing to invest their time and energy, not for others, but for themselves. At a later time, everyone will benefit from your self-investment. Some will appreciate your investment; others will not. If you have neglected yourself for years while trying to change other important people in your life (without success), WRG is for you. WRG provides you with the tools of life that are required to develop a healthy relationship with yourself; clarity of thinking/emotions; and a healthy spirituality. If you are not crystal clear about the answer to the basic question of 'Who am I', then WRG is for you and will help you believe what you know.
HOW IT WORKS: Wellness Recovery Groups consist of 5 to 10 individuals who meet for 1 and one-half hours in group sessions each week. Groups are held in the early evening hours on a day and time that is convenient for all group members. Each group meeting will have a specific focus and consist of a combination of psycho-education and psycho-therapy. Group members will have homework assignments and will report their effort during a portion of each group meeting. All topics and content of discussion are contained on cds or dvds. The goal is to obtain a working knowledge of this life-changing information and begin to utilize this information as our roadmap for everyday living. Group meetings are divided into 5 week segments. The cost of each 5 week segment is $200 which is paid at the beginning of each segment. This is equivalent to $40 per week. WRG segments are as follows:
